Philip Tedeschi is the Clinical Director at Antelope Recovery, where he brings decades of experience in trauma-informed care, ecological systems theory, and innovative approaches to adolescent behavioral health. At Antelope, he leads the clinical team in implementing embedded care—a model that integrates a young person’s natural world into the therapeutic process. This includes incorporating their relationships, environments, animals, and personal strengths to promote engagement, regulation, and healing.
He is also the Co-Director of the Institute for Animal Sentience and Protection and the Director Emeritus and Founder of the Institute for Human-Animal Connection. A licensed clinical social worker and Clinical Professor at the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work, Tedeschi is affiliated faculty with the University’s Animal Law Program. He teaches in the Human-Animal-Environmental Interaction Certificate program for MSW students, exploring the complex relationships between people, animals, and the natural world.Tedeschi’s research, teaching, and practice focus on human ecology, and the therapeutic potential of human-animal and nature-based interventions. He specializes in the bio-affiliative bond between humans and animals and the prevention of maltreatment.
